Mindfulness meditation offers a simple yet profound technique to focus and relax at the same time, allowing our true nature to bloom. Cyndi Lee teaches shamatha (mindfulness), vipassana (awareness) meditation, and contemplative maitri (loving-kindness) meditation as the foundation for cultivating self-knowledge and confidence in our own goodness, insight, and compassion. An overview of the stages on the Buddhist path
An understanding of the Four Noble Truths and how that relates to all of us now
Journaling homework, reading assignments, and small-group study assignments
Simple stretching and restorative yoga to reawaken stagnant physical energy
Walking meditation as a bridge between formal sitting meditation and the more interactive experience of daily life.
For people interested in leading meditation, Cyndi teaches how to give meditation instruction to a group, structure and deliver a pithy five-minute dharma talk, and field questions and lead group discussions. This program also includes practice-teaching to the group and constructive feedback from Cyndi.
Open to people who have never meditated before, meditators who would like to deepen and refresh their practice, and those who want to offer meditation instruction, this training is recommended for yoga students, yoga teachers, social workers, therapists, school teachers, and leaders in any field.
