Experience OM yoga, a dynamic, elegant practice that covers each category of asana, every limb of yoga and all parts of you, including motivation. Rather than targeting a peak pose, we will cultivate a peak you, integrated and yoga-fied, where no one aspect of you or yoga dominates but all harmonizes into a seamless experience of yoga.
Saturday 10:00am – 12:30pm ~ Sanity & Sweat
A refreshingly creative vinyasa workshop designed to enliven and uplift you, full of alignment-based instructions to clarify position and intention, and Buddha-dharma offerings to refine your relationship to the full body of yoga practices. Why do we practice anyway? Rather than expecting yoga to be a fixer-upper for what is wrong with us, this weekend will offer teachings which point you again and again toward your natural goodness and basic sanity, which can be felt in every drop of sweat. Since that is who you are already, the feelings will be familiar to you and that recognition leads to ziji, a kind of confidence based on egolessness, which will last your entire life.
Saturday 2:30 – 5:00 pm ~ Taking The Cure: A Deep Detox Practice
Back in the day, detoxing was called Taking the Cure. The healing modalities of yoga — pranayama, pratyhara, sweaty asana and restorative work – offer deep levels of detoxification. We will move stagnant lymph fluid, reduce muscular and mental stress, re-oxygenate organs, rest the brain and use the “cure” of yoga to encourage non-aggressive working patterns on the mat.
Saturday 5:00 – 6:00pm ~Book Signing : May I Be Happy
Sunday 10:00am – 12:30pm ~ Hip Closing (… & Opening)
Instead of more hip opening — just another form of craving — let’s find a balanced range of motion through soft closings, clarity of rotation, organized pelvis and legs, bright feet and precise attention to exertion and ease. This vinyasa class will include standing and seated poses, arm balance preps, upside down and inside out work, and some restorative yoga.
