IMG_4247-1024x612Lynchburg, Virgina was originally founded in 1757 as a ferry town.  Today, it exists a quaint city full of history, universities and colleges, small local businesses, and good people.  Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the banks of the James River it offers a great spot to retreat from your everyday busy life and take a break.  The surrounding nature and hills in the area make it a perfect place to hike, bike, breath and just relax.

Directions

Lynchburg is 3.5 hours Southwest of Washington, DC. 
 
TRAIN: Amtrak train arrives twice daily from parts north, ie. DC, NYC, etc. This is a very fun way to come to Lynchburg.
PLANE: You can fly to Lynchburg, on American Airlines or US Airways, with a transfer through Charlotte, NC
AIRPORTS:  Charlottesville (1 hr. 15 min.), Raleigh/Durham (3 hours), Washington/Dulles (3.5 hours) Roanoke, (1 hour)
