Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training: Level 2

Open to:

  • Meditators who would like to deepen and refresh their practice

  • People who want to offer meditation instruction in a group setting such as a yoga class, school group, nursing home, library

In Level 1 of this course, you learned a clear and straightforward technique for practicing mindfulness meditation, as drawn from the Buddhist tradition. You will learn how this down-to-earth method of mindfulness meditation will lead to personal insights, clarity, groundedness and joy.

In Level 2, you will learn specific structures for writing dharma talks as well as how to teach this simple, effective technique in groups and one-on-ones.

This training includes 14 days access to the online content if you are not able to make the live time or would like to re-watch within that period.

This 15-hour mindfulness meditation teacher training level II (12 hours online plus homework) is for people interested in learning to teach meditation to a group. In addition to longer sitting meditations sessions to develop stamina and insight, Level II includes:

  • how to offer meditation instruction to a group (not one-on-one)

  • how to structure and confidently deliver a pithy 5-minute dharma talk

  • the chance to practice this several times!

  • how to field questions (including an FAQ handout) and lead group discussions.

  • receiving constructive feedback from Cyndi

  • connecting the Four Noble Truths to Mindfulness Meditation practice & technique

  • dharma talks on heart practices: the path of the bodhicitta; maitri practice and the truth of interdependence

The training will include:

  • 4-5 dharma talks

  • 8 meditation sessions

  • Journaling exercises

  • Small group assignments

  • Movement snacks of simple stretching and restorative yoga to reawaken stagnant physical energy

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO TAKE A WRITTEN TEST AND GIVE A 5-MINUTE TALK IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.
